Bald spots on indoor cat

Hi, I'd love some advice for my lovely 3yo tabby female. She's recently developed some bald patches, and on her tummy she has some red spots. They don't seem to be bothering her, and she isn't over grooming or cleaning.

Any ideas what it could be? We're reluctant to take her to the vet, as I said they aren't bothering her, but we will if it doesn't go soon.

She's an indoor cat and is happy and healthy.

These look like my cat’s problem areas when she developed an allergy to a host of food ingredients. Her tummy was just like your picture, but had spread to a larger area, her paws and back of front and back paws.

A very expensive test confirmed allergies and all has been well since feeding her an allergenic dry food.

Maybe a food trial would be worth exploring?

She needs to see a vet really, but it does look like over grooming - it doesn't take much for it to happen and then they get stuck in a bit of a cycle.

My male cat was awful for it until we started letting him outside - I know you say she's happy and not stressed, but we thought the same about ours until we let him out and his confidence skyrocketed almost overnight.

My cat had that when he developed allergies. We still don't know what it is - allergenic food has helped, but he's also on daily steroids to control it. He is old though, so we're really just trying to keep him going without distress.

I really would go to the vet, they'll be able to advise. Do you have insurance?
