Next door's Tom spraying in my house

Firstly, just to say that I can't install a catflap as my doors are a "steel sandwich" and you can't just cut a hole in them. I can't install a catio as the garden is shared.

Next door's tomcat is driving me bananas. He made himself welcome in my flat and my two ladies were fine with him pootling in and out. They all sleep on the bed together.

We've had issues over food - I have to stand over feeding time as he tries to steal their food so I have to remove him if he tries to get in or take away any unfinished food.

Lately, he had taken to randomly spraying round the house. Rarely in the same place, so it's difficult to find unless you spot it glistening or put your hand into something smelly. I have the spray to clean it, but ideally, I need to stop him peeing. Other than shutting the house up, does anyone have any ideas..... other than nappies?

We had this and it was horrible. We installed a microchip cat flap into our side wall coming through the kitchen, behind the washing machine!

A UV torch helps to find the spray. A water pistol helps to deter, but tomcats are very persistent.

Has this cat not been neutered? Have a word with your neighbour!

Stop letting it in.

Forgot to say that in my post - yes, he is neutered, he came from the rescue chipped and snipped. Next door has spent a mint on his medical needs and do take good care of him - when he can be bothered to go home. She has my number to text me to make sure he's safe in bad weather etc.

Through the wall? Hmm. Yes. That is a possibility. Thanks

And I'm off to ebay to order a UV torch. At least if I can find it, I can clean it up and the flat won't pong.

He’s marking his territory, squirt him with a water pistol every time he comes in.

We have the same type of door as you, at the back and front, we've installed microschip cat flaps into both to stop the local ginger tom spraying everywhere.

Had the same problem myself with interloper Toms
Have a water spray handy for unwanted visits
