Kitten and 1 year old Cat

Hey guys,

I have to head back to work after working from home for a bit since getting our new kitten. We got one because our 1 year old cat was showing signs of being lonely and depression. They play together during the day, when I am home but sometimes have to break it up because our cat gets a little rough with his neck and it makes me nervous. That being said... they obviously can't be alone together. So at night the kitten has a room to himself, lots of food and water, his litter and lots of toys. Sometimes he meows really loud and it makes be sad but I guess he has to learn after 10 mins he usually stops.

I work from home twice a week, but I feel bad about when I do have to go in. Leaving him alone all night, and then until lunch when I come back home. Then four more hours, and I let him out until bedtime to play with his brother.

I also have a 3 day vacation coming up (in 2 weeks), and he will be separated from his brother, until someone comes and checks on him and plays feeds him and everything twice a day.

Will he be okay??

I would not leave a kitten alone for 3 days with only twice daily visits. In fact I wouldn't leave my adult cat for that long either - I've only done it so far for 2 days/1 night. For a 4 night holiday we got a house sitter to stay. I assume cat feeder will only be there a maximum of say half an hour each visit. That's 23 hours a day he'll be alone in a room which for me is too much.

Get a house sitter or put them in a cattery for your holiday.
