Cat missing, blood outside the door

There is lots of blood outside our back door, trail in paw prints and on the front window where we also let him in. Any chance he is still alive ? He has not come back and he always does. There is a new cat next door which has been bullying him but cats don't kill other cats do they ? There are foxes with a cub in the bushes. I am desperate .. kids blame me for leaving him out last night. I should have tried harder to get him to come in but he is often out at night and then sleeps inside all day. Any ideas ??

Since it came from a cat fight, keep a close eye on his wounds for the next few days and keep checking how warm he is.

A neighbour's cat attacked my little girl cat earlier last week and one of my boys ran out to defend her and got into a big fight. I broke it up as soon as I could. He was fine for a few days but then two of the 10ish wounds got infected and formed an abscess.

It came up really fast, I was checking him every morning and night, he was clear in the morning but refused his dinner at 6pm so I checked again and found a massive lump that burst an hour later.

He's on antibiotics and painkillers now and it's healing nicely but he's very sulky. Annoyingly he'll wolf down the painkillers but is refusing the antibiotics. So I've been making a paste out of them with cat yogurt and wiping it in his paws so he cleans it off.

The girl got away fine though, one tiny scratch that healed quickly.

I think ear wound bleed a lot. My cats had a scrap and the only visible injury was a small ear wound. She had shaken her head and I had blood over the floor, the walls and all up the door
