Cat and baby

We’ve always had cats. Dc1 was born and he just took to the cat. Then we had a family
member die and then cat1 became unwell and vets started talking pts. We then got cat2 to soften the blow when the time came. Baby was born and had an extended nicu stay. Cat1 was pts about 3 months ago after baby came home. Cat2 really softened the blow of losing cat1 for dc1 and dc1 adores him. Baby has horrible eczema and has come up highly allergic to cats. We’ve made the commitment to cat2 so rehoming not in our thoughts but how do we make it work? Any helpful tips or ideas please.

Honestly? I think this is one occasion when it's OK to look at rehoming.

Otherwise, keep things scrupulously clean (no cat hair - consider a roomba), keep cat out of certain rooms & especially child's room.
Follow all medical advice to the letter.
