Fleas - what am I doing wrong?

Pls help calm my anxiety :( found fleas on our poor new cat on Tuesday after googling the black bits he was leaving around the place (flea dirt). Have since brought him to the vet who treated him with Bravecto; have hoovered the entire house, sprayed Indorex everywhere and have hoovered every day since. Have washed every piece of clothing and blankets lying around, have got our bedding professionally laundered (lucky us no cat bed, as OUR bed is the cat bed 😭). It’s been three days now since cat treated and house sprayed, and I’m worried it’s not working. I’ve worn white socks around the house today to see what happens and have had maybe five tiny fleas jump on me at points throughout the day. Is this normal after spraying and hoovering - is this the newly hatched fleas emerging and hopefully ready to die? I’m also letting the cat roam free around the house in the hopes the fleas gravitate towards him and get poisoned - he’s nowhere near as itchy as he was but still some scratches here and there, and maybe finding two dead fleas on him per day. Oddly have found no dead fleas around the house? Is there something I’m doing incorrectly for there still to be new fleas about the place :( aware I have a long road ahead of me

I always get an increase in bites on myself after de-fleaing the pets, usually for several days. And also the pets will carry on scratching from the bites for a few days.

It sounds like you've covered all of the bases. Hopefully you'll see the results of your labour within the next couple of days. Dead fleas in the house will be much harder to spot than the last few live, jumping ones.

Place lots of shallow bowls of warm Fairy water round your home.. Tomorrow they wil be full of dead fleas..

It does take time.

Are you emptying your hoover after every use?

Put a cheap flea collar in the hoover bag/collection chamber to see off any stragglers.
