What litter do you use?

We're new to cat litter, I've used a wood one that stank when wet and a Tescos one that was meant to be clumping but just turned to mud and stuck to the scoop 🤢

I've looked after neighbours cats and their litter just clumps into a ball and easy to scoop out. I have messaged them but not heard back yet.

So what's good?

I used to use wood pellets but now I've gone back to Cat's Best. Even a small bag lasts a long time and it clumps really well. Downside is that it does track!

I’ve tried loads and the only ones that seem to not track everywhere or get stinky quickly are the ultra clumping ones, but I worry literally every time I buy it as it can’t be good for the environment! If anyone has any tips I’d appreciate it too :)
The Tesco ultra clumping is great and a fraction of the cost of pets at home one, although P@H one is better - just maybe don’t get the scented ones as some cats don’t like it.
Our previous cat used those crystals, which worked really well too, but haven’t tried them with new kitty

I'm in Aus so not sure if available in the UK but for clumping litter I use Ever Clean. I scoop twice a day and do a full change every 5-6 weeks.

Im currently trying to transition my cats to the ezi-lockodour system which is pellets that trap the solid and then any liquid goes down to the bottom and absorbed by pee pads.

Amazon clumping, really good and clumps well

We use fuller's earth style clumping clay litter.
We get ours from CostCo - good because it's not too dusty. The Lidl one isn't too bad either.

Thank you, I'll work my way through this lot 😊

I use World's Best which I get from Zooplus. It's corn based I think. Clumps really well but does track so a mat or something is useful

Sanicat Active White Lotus Flower. Smells SO good and clumps amazingly. I’ve set up repeat deliveries from Amazon so we never run out and have to use whatever rubbish emergency supply we can get in the Co-Op!

Either straw pellets or hemp horse bedding.

I prefer the hemp because it doesn't smell of anything and stays really light. It's also a 20kg bale which lasts absolutely ages, even with three cats.

Use this also from Zooplus.
