Our rescue boy…

Some posters may remember, but last year we rejoined a 6ish year old rescue boy who had spent 5 years alone in a dark room only being fed, with little human contact. He has a gammy leg and kept getting overlooked to be rehomed…

Anyway, here he is 10 months later. It’s been a rocky 10 months as he tried to get over his nerves and win over our existing cat (she’s still not a fan), with a lot of poo accidents and some corking scratches along the way. But last night he finally plucked up the courage to rest on my lap for the whole evening. He can’t figure out the cat flap for love nor money but can’t get enough of being outside when he’s let out, and his leg clearly doesn’t bother him as he’s shinnying eight foot walls to explore the neighbourhood.

So just a plea to rehome the cats that don’t show themselves off straight away. Reg is an absolute joy and DS has a best friend for life.

Oh, the beautiful, sweet lad. What a lovely story.

My own rescue boy has been with us 4 years nect month. He was kept in a garage for 2 years. I was told he would never sit on our laps as he was too nervous. It took him about six months, but he loves to sit on our laps and also be carried like a baby. He's currently snoring at my feet and I tell him every day how happy I am to have his company. (As well as him being a beautiful, clever, handsome boyo, naturally)
