Sun cream for cat's ears

Mewler is nearly 17 and the skin on her ear tips is quite thin and she has a few freckles there. I was thinking about putting sun cream on her ears when she is basking outside and wondered what you cat lovers think and if anyone has any recommendations. There's a good few choices on Amazon and I don't know what to choose or whether to bother at all

Is your cat white. My old cat was mainly white and had to have both her ears removed when they developed cancer. A family member had a cat who had to have part of its nose removed from sun related cancer. We were told to use human sun cream, but the problem was she would wash it off

We just used factor 50

She is not white which, I know, carries more risk. We put some human factor 50 on them today, luckily she can't lick the tips of her ears!

We had to do this with our cat when I was a teenager. We put purple kids stuff on him. He was white. (We didn't tell him it was purple)

Maybe I will get some kids sun cream in case she gets any in her mouth. Although it would be difficult, she could rub her ears with her paws and lick them

Our cat would clean it off with her paws, lick her paws then clean her ears - on repeat

We used organic kids' stuff on our white cat. I found a spray was easiest to administer and used to keep a bottle in the utility room to catch her with before she went out. Per pp she would generally remove it though!
