Best brush for persian

Hi! Now that Freddie's lion cut is regrowing and it's getting hot, I need to brush him more regularly. I have a wide tooth comb but he is not a fan. Can anyone recommend a good brush for a Persian? (Photo for cat tax)

I used a metal comb and a Superdrug brand tangle teaser for my long haired girls. It had stiffer bristles than the regular tangle teasers. And a professional groom every three months or so. Make sure back legs and bum are kept very short. (Painful experience taught me that!)

He's gorgeous!

I have one from Amazon that I just haven't been able to find this afternoon, so I've literally just used a tangle teaser on my Ragdoll. He seemed to like it, as it was rather like having a massage / nice stroke at the same time!

He’s beyond gorgeous!

He doesn’t look like a Persian, is he a cross? His nose is longer than you see on Persians unless they’ve started breeding them with less flat faces at last.

He is the cutest boy I ever did see.

He's now all soft and floofy and fast asleep, so it certainly seemed to be relaxing for him

@LightDrizzle he does
Look like one. They don't all have flat faces.

@LightDrizzle we have been told he is a Chinchilla Persian. We rehomed him from Battersea so I guess we will never be 100% sure!

Right - tangle teaser - I might see if we have an old one from the kids!

You don't need a comb, no, you need to give him to me and I'll comb him and keep him. He's gorgeous!

He's adorable! I have a ragdoll and find that a Denman type 'human' hairbrush works best on a vet thick coat

I have a long-hair. I use either a tangle teezer or one of these that's easy to clean. I think the retractable one is better than the tangle teezer for my girl.

Ha ha! Thank you - he is such a sweet natured boy as well!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Managed to find an old tangle teaser so will see how that works.

I was going to put that he's a Chinchilla!

BexScho · 03/01/2025 07:41

Hey. He’s beautiful. I too am striving to find the perfect brush. An Amazon one is best yet. It’s white long with five teeth.

BexScho · 03/01/2025 07:43

Mine isn’t a flat face
