Those steam brush things

My social media timelines are full of ads for those steam brush things that are supposed to be better at grooming out all the loose fur. My cat is a BSH-moggie so not sure if it's worth getting one - has anyone tried them?

No but I'm interested as I quite fancied one.

@BeccaJ1987 thanks for that, I was interested in these as well. But your points are very valid. So I won't get one.

I want the cat they use to advertise them, what a laid back cat! If I tried one of them on any of ours they'd probably kill me in my sleep.

My social media too! Would love to know if they really work as both mine are shedding like crazy at the minute.

I keep seeing them advertised & thinking they look horribly dangerous: a tiny leak & “scalded cat” stops being a simile. Even steam can scald; & on a cat you’d not see it instantly.

A nice slicker brush with the wee mechanism that ejects the hair for you 👍🏻

My cat is a rescue BLH and grooming is a living nightmare. She’ll tolerate it for about 20 seconds and then legs it. Anyone got any ideas?

I watched a Jackson Galaxy video on how to groom your cat and basically, it was bribe them with treats.

Tried it on unenthusiastic but greedy cat and it really worked - few seconds, treat, few more seconds, treat.

Howevere am not brave enough to try it on batshit crazy cat who doesn't respond to bribes.
