I moved house in the autumn to a place with a huge, secure garden.

What I hadn't fully realised was there is a small portion of wall backing onto a lane that is used as a speeding cut through for traffic.

I have three cats. Two would not be interested or capable of scaling the wall. One definitely would though and he is my beloved heart cat. Having lost my dog suddenly and traumatically at the time of the house move I am paranoid about anything happening so all three have been kept in until I can sort the wall.

Dc 1 and 2 are fine, but heart cat is getting increasingly frustrated now weather is warmer.

So I am thinking the unthinkable and have been ( shhhhh) googling cat harnesses. At least that would give him a bit of freedom in the meantime and introduce him to the delights of the garden , maybe making the wall of death a little less appealing too.

What do you think? Has anyone got any recommendations ? I suspect he will hate anything too vest-like - his post operative vest lasted approximately 2 seconds after emerging from his basket. But I also want something reasonably escape proof.

I need to crack on with the wall, I know this, but I am not too well at the moment so looking for an interim solution.

He is a big lad - 7 to 8 k I think .

Any ideas?

Can't help with personal experience but @yesitsmeidontcare is the expert, with various designs modelled by the lovely Leroy

Buy a cat proof set from eBay and pay a handy man to fit it. Would be done in half a day.

I would cat proof the garden instead of buying a harness.
