I know its normal for them to wander. But it's the first time ipek has disappeared. He normally doesn't leave the cul de sac. 2 out of 4 kids have just fallen asleep after crying non stop. I went out looking for him shaking treats but nothing. I put his food out for a bit but nothing. I put my sons stinky shirt out in case he's gone too far and lost. Will post on SM tomorrow if no sign.

Anything else I should do?

I'm so glad he's back 😁

Mine did this to me a few days ago. He wasn't around when I got back from work (unlike him) so I searched the whole house and couldn't find him. Went outside to start calling him in the gardens and he emerged, yawning, from the house. I think they do it deliberately 😁

I am so pleased you found your cat. They really are masters at hiding, very often high up. Sometimes the best thing to do is to stand still in the room and just listen. If they have found a snug place to fall asleep you will be able to hear them snoring or gently snoring.

For future information, it is now, apparently, the law to have all cats microchipped which is handy if they go missing and get handed in to the local vets as they can contact you. If they do go missing put posters up on local lamp-posts and vet and shop notice boards. Contact local animal rescue groups and put messages on local whatsapp and facebook groups etc.

Never put a collar on a cat as they often get caught on things and can be strangled, I found one once and it was a horrible way for the cat to die.
