Cat with diarrhoea

Has anyone ever had a cat with diarrhoea and they have been unable to get it cleared up? The vets say possibly problem with pancreas or IBS. Cat suffers lots of gurgling in stomach and does cow pat poos. Diet is now hypoallergenic. He's on various supplements B12 and potassium and enzymes for pancreas and a steroid now. He interacts with us and his brother. We have already gone through the pet insurance amount as he has had every test in the book. He is only two years old.

Have you tried a probiotic? Out cat has responded very well to Fortiflora as recommend by our vet. He has a delicate tummy even when there's been no change to food or surroundings. A week of the fortiflora and he's back to normal

I had a cat with IBS.

He was very tricky to manage as he really wanted to eat human food but the diarrhoea was spectacular.

In the end we:
Implemented a system with dishes that meant no food was left out even dirty plates

Found a dry cat food that didn't give him diarrhoea (by a long process of trying nearly everything on the market) and using that exclusively

Shut doors overnight so he was in a non-carpeted room. Bought new chairs that had washable cushions.

Had him outside as much as possible especially in the summer.

Have you tried hydrolysed food?

Thanks all. Probiotics tried. Yes to hydrolysed food. He's now on a steroid to support his system. It just seems crazy that he has been in a top veterinary hospital and they can't crack this.

Bless him, I'm assuming they've tested for worms and he's up to date on his treatment?
