Help with cat flap

I have just got a new kitten, and wanted to keep him in, while still letting the big cats out.
I already have a microchip cat flap, so put new batteries in it as i never replaced them when they ran out years back.
It doesn't work at all.
Ordered new microchip cat flap.
Went to take the old one out of the glass in the door, and there are no screws where there should be screws, only silicone filling the scew holes.
Now what do I do? Don't want to be too forceful, as don't want to break the glass. Surely it wasn't just fitted with silicone??
Help!

Oh. And picture for tax 😊

Are you sure silicone wasn't just used to fill the screw holes after the screws went in? Some might do this so it looks better 🤷🏼‍♀️
I'd trying picking the silicone off...

I had a good dig around with a screwdriver in the screw holes where the silicone is, there are definitely no screws.
I'm going to have to find a way aren't I. Can't allow anything to happen to this little cutie!
