Looks like our cat may need a tooth extraction
Giving him the once over today he has swelling around a tooth and Google suggests that antibiotics don't work too well on cat tooth abscess and extraction is the most likley outcome.

Has anyone had cat dental work done lately and how much did it cost?

I paid about £600 for a scale and polish and three extractions. All under general anaesthetic. He's about 9.

Think ours was about £550 for five teeth out under general

My 5 year old cat had several teeth removed a few months ago and it cost just over £500. He's insured with Agria and they paid for it (minus the excess).

LoveIsleOfWight · 21/04/2024 19:52

Unfortunately he's not insured, he has a health condition that they wont cover without ridiculous amounts per month, I do have some savings so that's his emergency fund, the other cat and the dog are insured

Hoping it's closer to what some have said
Having done some more googling they suggested as low as £200 but I highly doubt this is likley

Fingers crossed we can get him an appointment this week, vets are rather stretched here and many people are still sat on wait lists

Mine had 6 teeth out. For some reason the vet insisted it be done in two stages. I wasn't impressed with this but had no choice. It cost £977. The vet was a bit shocked as they only thought she needed one out.

She's 3.
