Apologies for the quality of the pics! This is a raised, round lump with a black centre. Tick?? Doesn’t seem to be bothering her…

Some kind of cyst? Can you send the picture to your vets office!

VariousVeins · 21/04/2024 14:33

Looks like a nipple. Does she have more?

listlovers · 21/04/2024 14:35

Slightly better pics

Where is it on her body? It looks like a nipple to me.

Overtheatlantic · 21/04/2024 14:36

Looking closer it does look like a tick

listlovers · 21/04/2024 14:37

She has another lump on her flank, but there’s no black centre/nipple (!) on that one

On her shoulder

Has she been excessively grooming? It could just be where she has pulled out fur.

listlovers · 21/04/2024 14:40

Desperately hoping both lumps are nothing to worry about as we just lost our other beautiful cat 😭

No, and it’s on her shoulder so not a place she can reach to lick

I think it looks like a bite, maybe where a tic was attached? Does she have any tic medications? Do a quick google to see how to clean it, warm salty water etc ( check as they'll lick it so nothing that could harm her if ingested

It’s tick season !
I’d assume tick
put isopropyl alcohol on it and see if it moves,Had to remove one from my dog’s head the other night.

Update: (tmi warning) we removed the black spot and something odd came out - like slightly dried out pus. The lump has been squeezed and has now gone down. Antiseptic applied. Cat pretty chilled out about it all, only flinched when the black spot was removed.
Shall keep an eye on it.

Here is a pic of tick ✅ on Whippet’s head-
It’s slid in under her short hair.
To right of pic under finger-

Maybe they were old tick bites?
the “ Bald” spot around them is unusual, unless you were blowing on the fur to show the mark ?

Our old Lurcher had a small hole left by a tick

Hopefully nothing to worry about.

I was going to suggest a wart but it sounds more like a spot if pus (even if dried up) came out, has she been in a fight and maybe it's a claw mark? How is the other one now?

listlovers · 21/04/2024 19:40

Yes we think maybe a wound that got a bit infected but resolved itself, leaving a spot behind. The other one is going to need checking by a vet I think.
