A thread about not much other than my old boy

Sherlock is 19 and still very much with us. Skinny with a mammary lump the size of a small potato but grooms himself smart and well, enjoys his food, keeps lovely and clean and is just lovely. Taken the decision to not vaccinate or do anything else now for him. He is happy and content and loved. Me and Mr Gate have said when time is right we will get vet to come to our home and send him off on his long, long sleep

Sherlock is a fab name for a cat. I named a cat I rescued Sherlock.

Ahh!
I still think about your lovely story about how your DH buys prawns for his special boy 🧡

He's lovely and he looks so good for 19! My last boy lived to be over 20 and he was not in anything like as good shape! He had arthritis, was blind in one eye, epileptic, diabetic, had bouts of vestibular disease, only groomed his front paws and face/head, and had lost the ability to purr!! He still ate like a horse and he loved life!

Canthave2manycats · 19/04/2024 20:22

That's such a lovely story @Gatekeeper! Our old boy appeared on our doorstep too, back in 2008.

Icequeen01 · 19/04/2024 20:22

I remember your thread! How lovely to have this update. He doesn't look like he has aged at all. There's a few years left in him yet I'm sure - my sister's cat was 24 when they lost her.

Pudmyboy · 19/04/2024 20:45

What a beautiful old boy, I am looking forward to reading his 'origin story' and thank you for bookending the history of his lovely life with you 😻
I hope he had a long time with you yet, full of love.
If you are in the Midlands, when it is finally time, I can recommend Dignipets x

Breadcat24 · 19/04/2024 21:00

gorgeous cat

honeyfox · 19/04/2024 21:10

Just read his origin story, how lovely!

I'm sure he has had a fabulous life with you both and may well be around for a good few years yet.

Pudmyboy · 19/04/2024 21:30

Just read his origin story (actually just your posts @Gatekeeper ), had my heart in my mouth when he was whisked away at the vets and let out a little cheer when the original owner said you could keep him! 😍
