Stray cat upsetting everything

Can anyone offer me any advice please? I'm desperate. We have been adopted by a dirty, unkempt stray cat. It is underweight with bad teeth and constantly drools. It is afraid of people and won't be touched. We are a cat loving family with 4 rehomed cats but they are all unsettled by the stray and they are now spraying in the house. The stray comes in at night even though we bought an outdoor cat house and made it cozy with straw. It is damaging all our furniture and leaves sticky drool on the carpets. Its poos and wees on the lawn. Really I am at the end of my tether after a year of this. The local charity says its not suitable to be rehomed. People are suggesting I give it to someone with a farm but it will surely die won't it? I'm sending it to its death. What can I do? I wish it would move on but it just won't. Please advise. Thanks.

Such a gorgeous update.
How lovely that the vet was so kind too.
Definitely landed on her paws.

Pudmyboy · 24/05/2024 23:51

Oh how lovely! So do you think her problems (drooling, not wanting to be touched) stemmed from toothache?
I hope so, in that, now her teeth have been fixed she may become friendly. You are lovely people @mildlyfried and your vet is very special too, obviously focussed on providing the best outcome for the cat. Now we need a name... Domino???😸

Anniegetyourgun · 25/05/2024 11:31

Lovely name suggestion @Pudmyboy . She has stunning markings.

You're very kind to take care of her. She certainly landed on her feet with your family.

I am so glad. What a lovely cat and what a happy ending. Thank you for caring about her, OP.

TheresNoFudgeHere · 25/05/2024 12:21

You’ve done a really lovely thing, I am so pleased you took her to the vet and paid for her treatment. I’m sure she will return the favour in love and perhaps mice 🩷

You are a kind soul.
We fell in love with a girl stray a few years ago. She had quite an impact on our lives. We still miss her

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 25/05/2024 17:15

ohthejoys21 · 25/05/2024 22:13

So much love to you for giving her a happy endingBear

m00ngirl · 25/05/2024 22:19

@mildlyfried how wonderful ♥️ thank you for making my day, and moreover, this cat's life 🙏

@AnnaMagnani your pts recommendation was psychopathic, I hope the compassion shown by OP here rubs off on you

Floralnomad · 25/05/2024 22:20

What a lovely update , you are very kind @mildlyfried . Are your other cats tolerating her a bit better now ?

mildlyfried · 26/05/2024 13:26

Thank you for all your lovely comments. Don't we all love a happy ending. We have always called her 'Julie' (Drooly Julie) but obviously not drooling any more! She is very content. Our other cats seem to be accepting her gradually. It's easier in the warm weather because she likes her cosy outdoor igloo. She sneaks inside in the winter when we are asleep. I think she will grow to be more affectionate in time. Another picture I took this morning.

Lovely, she does look cosy and content in her little igloo which looks very smart and deluxe! Warmed the cockles of my heart on a rainy Sunday!😻

HokiePokie · 04/06/2024 23:46

What a fantastic outcome! You are so kind to look after her so well and adopt her. Your vet sounds wonderful too!
