What to do with loose catnip

I bought some loose catnip a few months ago, as out cat goes mad with catnip stuffed toys.

It will probably not be as strong now that I've had it a while, but what can I do with it to use it up? I tried sprinkling it around our makeshift scratch post to encourage her to scratch, but it didn't have the effect I intended.

If you use loose catnip with your cat, what do you do?

TIA

I've got some, and no idea what to do with it either! Don't want to sprinkle it on the floor!

I've got one of those cardboard scratch board things and I sprinkle loose catnip on it. You do get a bit on the floor but mine is in the kitchen so it is easy to sweep up.

I have a door cat groomer which takes loose cat nip. Also plenty of cat toys which have a Velcro strip, so cat nip can be put inside the toys. This would be an easy thing to do with any scrap of material even an odd sock- tip the cat nip inside and tie a knot in the sock or sew up a scrap of material into a pocket shape.

I keep the spare in a small glass jar ( a salsa jar ) the put some of his soft toy mice / balls in it so they soak up the smell .
They get swapped around every now and then so he has a 'new' toy

I sprinkle about half a tea spoon on her scratching mat. I didn't realise for a long time that she was eating it. She seems to like it so I just let her get on with it!

Thanks for your replies.

I do like the old sock idea. No sewing and giving it a second lease of life.

I keep loose catnip in a plastic tupperware box, and store the cat toys in it for a couple of weeks in rotation.
