One cat is poorly. I have three.

How do I work out which one it is?

Last week I wormed them and after the fifth time of spitting out the tablet I put it in their sauce and all three happily ate the tablet. The next morning there was a bit of diarrhoea. I made a note as I felt like it might have happened before. Since then, no more meds and no more sauce but there has been three more lots of toileting on the floor plus one more normal poo in the hall. Apart from the latter which I'm not sure about, all other times the door was open and they could have got out through their cat flap. Two of the cats do not like going in the car or to the vet, the other doesn't mind too much and nearly fell asleep on the cats table 😁so I'm loathe to traumatise them but equally feel this can't be ignored. I can't take all three at the same time and don't know how I'm going to work out who it is.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on, do I need to do anything, could it be the worming tablet still? Of course I've no way of knowing if they've had an upset tummy every day but have been outside as I can only go on what I've found on the floor. 🐱🐈🐈‍⬛

Separate them all for 24 hours or until at least two of them have used the litter tray or been to the toilet?

As previous poster said, or follow & stare each time one needs to use the litter tray

When I haven't been sure. A good luck at their bums normally told me!

I would possibly narrow it down to the two nervous ones who don't like the vet trips. Because pooing/peeing indoors in unusual places is a sign of stress and anxiety.

Did anything else happen to cause them stress when you were first trying to give them worming tablets?

One cat has never liked being given tablets so maybe I should have put it in the sauce rather than trying a few times but everything is the same as it has been for the last few months. I think they have got used to the kids coming and going as they leave for uni, home for Covid, back to uni then the next child going then one coming back and the next one going and I doubt they care h has gone.

I looked at the bottom of the one I thought it was yesterday but all looked clean and ok.

We don't have litter trays as they have constant access to a really big garden.
