Introducing kitten to cat

Hi all, looking for some advice around introducing a new kitten to my cat. My cat is 3 and still quite playful but he does sleep with us on a night and is generally very friendly. I'm hoping that the kitten won't make him feel pushed out/not want to sit with us anymore so looking for advice on how we can make sure he doesn't feel that way please!

Have done scent swapping, got a plug in too

Pic attached for cuteness

We were told to expect hissing and batting but to not tell our resident cat off for this, it's natural. We kept a close eye on them. Resident cat was a bit rough playing so I would separate them if it got too much. But kitten had a safe place to retreat. He could get in a gap to go under our bed when he had enough.

I don't think cats really feel jealousy.

We've always just put kittens straight in with our resident cats (under supervision) and have never had any problems. It took our resident older boys less than 24 hours to accept our youngest.

Cats most definitely feel jealousy in our house. They’re 9 & 12 and the youngest will always come over when the oldest gets on your lap, waits 30 seconds meows and the older one will hiss and jump off. They hiss all the time if they walk past each other too.
But they will eat next to each other absolutely fine & will play together in the garden. Even sleep on our bed next to each other - so makes no sense!!

just try to give the older one lots of cuddles if you can when kitten comes along
