We found a lap-cat!

Actually, it's more of a hiding-under-the-couch-cat at the moment, but when we drag it out it is very placid, and tolerates us for a while.

11 years old, been living in a high-rise apartment with an elderly man, who had to give up independent living because of his health.

It's somewhat overwhelmed by finding itself in a house with multiple floors and multiple people.

Bless him (or her?) What’s the name?

Scaffoldingisugly · 06/03/2024 19:48

He must be relaxed exposing his tummy!? Def looks like a boy imo!

Toddlerteaplease · 06/03/2024 19:54

He's gorgeous. Good for you taking on an older cat.

LostCats · 06/03/2024 20:15

Oh my gosh you found one! How wonderful! I hope your wife and he have many happy hours watching tv together.

TheHorneSection · 06/03/2024 20:26

Oh he’s gorgeous! I’m jealous, our latest rescue is still nervous six months on, and existing cat only deigns to come near you for half an hour a day. What’s his name?

IWFH · 06/03/2024 20:27

He/she is lovely. This doesn't look like the cat you adopted in January. I know you were looking for a lap cat for your wife (and I fully understand your reasons). Just wondered, did the first cat not work out for you?

Octavia64 · 06/03/2024 20:28

Oh that is lovely.

Lap cars are amazing.

I'm trying to train mine to be lap cats.

Freeasabird76 · 06/03/2024 20:29

Ohh he's a beauty 😻

CanadianJohn · 06/03/2024 22:14

Quick note, I gotta go cook. His name is Ingles, rhymes with jingles, and will probably be renamed Pringles, or something.

We had a cat for a short while, the very ugly tortie with a ragged ear. It was supposedly 7 and very friendly, but it's idea of watching TV was to walk along the top of the entertainment unit, knocking down all the photographs and ornaments. I was fine with the cat, but my wife, who is terminally ill, wanted a more placid cat.

Hence, Ingles, or jingles, or whatever.

I am so glad you found your lap cat, I hope he brings you and especially your wife, a whole lot of joy and comfort😻

My wife died at home a couple of days ago, at the age of 82. This photo is her about a week before she died, with Ingles the cat.
