Weight loss food

Our rescue cat which we’ve had for 5 years yo-yo’s in weight - slims down Spring/Summer and gains a lot of weight from autumn onwards. She is very lazy in winter time and sleeps and eats whereas in warm weather she’s out exploring all the time.

She has been on Royal Canin Light, as recommended by the vet, for about 4 years and it really doesn’t help. We weigh her food out plus she has half a pouch of wet food daily. She weighs around 6kg in winter which is far too much.

Has anyone found a dry food that helps maintain weight better than RC?

We do play with her, chase around the house, and encourage her to go out as much as possible to try and keep her active.

It's normal for them to weigh a bit more in winter - honestly if she's active and loses it again in summer it really wouldn't worry me too much.

However I would probably look to change her food to something with a higher meat content than RC.
