Faecal transplant advice?

Hi all. I have another thread running about my poorly cat.

My vet had suggested if nothing else helps his camplobacter/diarrheah after this set of stool samples, she could.do a faecal.transplant to try and help the microbiome in his stomach. He has constant diarrheah. He's a year old in April and half his size.

Just wandered if anyone else's cat has had a Faecal transplant and if it helped?

Thank you

I've heard of it in humans but not in cats. I think it can have really good results. And actually does make sense if you think about it.

Thank you! @Toddlerteaplease OK. So its definitely worth thinking a out if she brings it up again.

I would definitely consider it for my cats if they had that issue.

I can't imagine it would do much harm.

Thank you! Ok I feel better about it now! Will definitley give it a go if suggested again. He's really not well and antibiotics didn't help. Panacur seemed to help! But he's been off it 2 weeks now and gone backwards again so not sure if it was masking symptoms.

Have also heard of it in humans, although not seen it done.

It's supposed to work really well, basically giving your cat a dose of bacteria from a healthy happy gut.

Interesting! Thank you @AnnaMagnani I have gone down a rabbit hole if google searches now. I hope insurance would cover the cost as its an ongoing issue!

I wouldn't envy the person who has to do the actual procedure!

Deifinitley not! Lol. Vet seemed hyped though as her own cat is the donor apparently 🤣 but we aren't at that stage just yet!
