Two stage dentals.

My cat needs five teeth out as she has reabsorption lesions. (Only expecting to need one out) the vets have done x rays etc but are insisting she comes back at a future date to have them removed. I'm
Really cross about this. I'd never have consented to a two stage procedure. As I do t think it's in her best interests to give her two separate anaesthetics or cause her more distress. (Never seen her as scared as she was this morning)
Is this normal practice?

It just might be that expecting maybe one to need removing and having scheduled it in as such, they wouldn't have had the time to do all 5 in the one go. Plus it could be a time under anesthetic thing, that having had all the x-rays and suchlike.

But I thought they would have done 1 or 2 today. Unless they thought it would be better for her to only have 1 recovery from the actual surgery?

They said it was due to the length of the anaesthetic. But having seen the x rays, I can see why they been to properly plan it. As it's a lot worse than expected.
