Cat passed away today

Just here for a hand hold really
The first cat I ever adopted died today, pretty unexpectedly after a quick deterioration and kidney stone diagnosis this morning. He was only 3.5 and I'm devastated. I know it was the best thing for him but I will miss him so much

Oh love, I'm so sorry. I was here last year - came home from a vet appt with an empty basket. It's a shock. Let it sink in over the next few days/weeks.

Remember that his life, although short, was a happy one. You gave him a loving home. You loved him, and he loved you too.

It's a very unique type of sadness for a much loved pet to die. It rips away a little part of your soul. I guess this is the cost of love... be kind to yourself OP and share the grief with fellow animal lovers ❤️
