Picked up our new kittens yesterday. They were super shy and hid under the couch for hours. We had a hole that they got into and the moved into the inside of the couch. After a few hours where they hadn't eaten or drank anything or used the litter tray had to tilt the couch to get them out and sewed up the hole!!
They slowly started to become more playful and had eaten and used the tray.
I've got them both booked into the vets in the morning as I think they might be a bit wormy.
So please meet Ivy and Loki. Ivy is more white than her brother and has a black spot on her nose. ♥️

Oh they are precious! Sound like they’re settling in brilliantly as well, ready to be your overlords.

TeaKitten · 04/01/2024 21:33

They are so cute! How old are they?

QuestionableMouse · 04/01/2024 21:34

MadKittensIvyLoki · 05/01/2024 08:39

8 weeks. I'd have liked them a little older but..
They are booked in for worming, flea treatment and first vax this afternoon and I'm dreading it already 😭🫣

Took them today and the vet said they were too small for vax and microchip. I said that I had only rung up to book flea and worming treatment but the person on the phone said they needed vaxxing and microchipping too.
So he said that he would just charge for the wormer as they didn't need defleaing. We are back in with him next Saturday for vax and we will see what they weigh then to decide neutering dates.

Thank you. My friend spent a lot of time here at the litter box. She died recently and her oldest cat, Ivy, died soon after. She loved black and white cats and was my biggest supporter of getting more cats before my other cat went missing.
When I heard about these kittens I found out that the owners name was a mix of mine and my friends. Felt like fate.

Lucky you, and lucky them, they are gorgeous and from your story, obviously meant to be 😻😻

PuppySnores · 10/01/2024 16:52

I'm surprised they're too small for vax and microchipping -- isn't 8 weeks pretty standard for that? Our kittens had their first vax at 6 weeks and second at 8 to 9 weeks, before being rehomed.

Might depend on the brand of vax? I know that there's a huge shortage of cat vaccines at the moment. They've actually saved the second batch just for my two rather than bank on the next set being available. The guidance from the manufacturer is 9 weeks so the vet didn't want to go below that.

Yes, and a low level scratching house and one of those cardboard ones too!
