Cat cough

Our 2 year old cat made a noise a few days ago that sounded like he was trying to cough up a hair/furball, but didn’t bring anything up.
He has done this a few more times over the last couple of days, still no vomiting or bringing anything up. He seems ok in that he is eating and drinking as usual, and is happy enough, but not sure if I should be worried, how would I know if it was a cough that needed treating, it sounds a bit like a bark, or if there is something needs dislodging. Either way a trip to vet probably a good idea, just wondering if anyone has had similar. Thanks.

Our cat does this quite a lot and I'm still not sure what it is. If you Google cat asthma you'll see videos of cats doing what you describe. It's a good idea to take a video and show the vets. My vet saw the video and said it could be asthma but she wasn't too concerned as he was only doing it a few times a month. However, this week he's been doing it every day so I might take him to the vets.

Video it and have it looked at by a vet. I know coughs can be a sign of heart issues so I wouldn't want to leave it.
