Can anyone reccomend a toy their cats have loved? We've had Da Bird (and the Amazon copies) he just destroys them within hours. He has the little springs which he does enjoy, he likes pom-poms but not the scrunchy foil balls.

He is a chewer and gets into trouble with that (he is flip flop cat if anyone remember we'd) so we have to be careful of the material they are made from. But he's a house cat and I'm worried he's bored, he can't go out as we live near a busy road which we lost his brother to.

Stinkies!

Mine got some from Santa and they love them.

Cherry35 · 27/12/2023 19:58

My cat loves to follow the automatic ball that keeps rolling over, it is rechargeable. He also has a fish that is also rechargeable and keeps moving its tail. He also has a mouse that is rechargeable and runs.

However, his favourite toy is a soft "mini cat pillow". It's handmade and bought it from a cat rescue, it's like an actual pillow made with a fabric of cat pictures. Its maybe 10-15 cm long but he absolutely loves it. He takes it everywhere with him, hugs it, kisses it, sleeps hugging the mini pillow.

Mine love those fishing rod toys with fake fur snakes attached to the elastic - they're the only toy I can get all three of them interested in. They also love table tennis balls.

That is adorable!

I tried one of them last night and he just kept chewing all the felt off

Oh no! None of mine are really strong chewers thankfully.

Have you tried dog balls/toys? Maybe a bit tougher?

Mine loves these

Stinkies! Mine are obsessed!

hartof · 27/12/2023 20:23

Tried dog toys and chews he just isn't interested. He has a very specific taste - flip flops (so anything foam), the lint roller stickers, feathery things

Are stinkies little things filled with catnip? He usually just chews and chews them until they bust open and there's a trail of catnip through the house

Cheddar loves Mollies mice, plastic springs, thermometer probe covers and yeowww toys.

Scampuss · 27/12/2023 20:41

I have a bitey cat and her favourites are Skineez mice, Molly's Mice, Kong dental range, especially the caterpillar, and chewing cardboard (which she inelegantly spits out Hmm).

We have indoor cat too. He has lots of different toys. 3 treat puzzle boards. I think he plays with them springs the most. Then he has a few kickers and catnip toys. We have also not long ago bought him a big wheel to run on. Every so often you can hear him on it

Following on he likes these

He has this one then a couple with suction cups too. I did cut the eyes off, not sure why they put them on

SmithfamilyRobinson · 27/12/2023 21:25

Lazy cat parent here; laser pointers. Also you can get cat apps for ipad and kindle where they get to bat/kill mice, flies, butterflies etc.

Mine loves this https://www.viovet.co.uk/GiGwi-Bird-Motion-Activated-Bird-Sound-Grey-Toy-for-Cats/c120820/ Most things I have to play with him, this one he’ll find himself and go bonkers with it. He’s pretty harsh with it and it holds up well. A Kong Kickeroo is popular too.

Also following with interest as he’s also indoors and seems a bit lacklustre at the moment, needs more stimulation.

I've put it down with my cat to the winter as in summer we're in the garden and have him either put pottering if he's not in an adventurous mood or on his harness and lead just playing in the garden.

These look like they could be a winner. Yes he loves the kong kickers too

Molly's Mice are always winners. Sybil with her new Christmas one.
Otherwise long feathers are good.

Ours prefer a ball made of screwed up pipe cleaners over literally anything else. Although they did spend five minutes on Christmas Day shredding expensive felt catnip springs from a craft fair. But now they're back to the pipe cleaner balls.

our biggest successes were

KONG Bungalow Play Spaces Cat Toy | Pet-Supermarket.co.uk
Super cute looking little house and it was hilarious watching our kitten roll it around and down the living room (with the kitten in it) like it was in the tornado.

Valonii 2-in-1 Rechargeable Motion Activated Interactive Cat Toys for Indoor Cats, Long Lifetime Motor Cat Chasing Toy for Exercise /Moving Butterfly/Feather Wand Kitten Toys : Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
Best toy of its kind I found on Amazon. Flat base, holds charge well, charges via a normal phone lead. We tried others previously, the yellow one costs half that but you'll spend a fortune on 3xC batteries and it will break.
The ball shaped ones probably look the nicest but I was forever on my feet having to turn it over or stick the suction cup back down or re-attaching the wand only for them to break anyway (we had two, got refund for both because they broke after a couple of weeks). The one in the link has lasted 3 months now no problems.

Catnip Filled Rabbit Fur Mouse Shaped Cat Toy With Pheasant Feather Teaser Attachment - Etsy UK
ours was not catnip filled but something about that rabbit fur that made them want to play with a mouse type toy the longest.

LAMXD 20 Pcs Cat Spring Toys Colorful Spring Cat Toy BPA-free Plastic Coil Spiral Springs Pet Interactive Toys for Cat Kitten Pets Novelty Gift : Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
you'll probably need this many. Best buy a toy on a long stick as well to get them from under the sofa! Good fun for the cats though.

What indoor wheel did you get Laura and where from? I'm considering one for TempCat as he's getting a bit podgy. But I'm not sure he'd use it and the ones I've seen are quite expensive so I'm hesitating.

OP, TempCats favouriate toy is a large cardboard which lots of packing tape he can pull off with his teeth. Beats the flipping fish and any number of wand toys though he will play with them for a bit. He also like silvervine sticks for a good chew.
