Idiopathic cystitis

10 minutes ago my boy decided we have to have another episode of this 🙄 I know what it is because he was diagnosed earlier in the year with it. It's Christmas! Why do our feline overlords decide now is the time to get an issue??
Anyway, we are looking after a neighbours cat, but we haven't seen him today so it's not that. The only difference we've made today is to put the Christmas table cloth on and DH put a plug in in, is it the plug in?? I've heard stories about plug ins before.
Anyway, we had some medication left over from last time, just gave him some. Please tell me we're going to get through Christmas?! 😂
BTW, this gorgeous boy went missing for two weeks in summer! Came home and wasn't stressed at all! Just relieved to be home I guess🤷

Is he on Cystease? Plug ins didn’t work on my cat either.

Thanks for your reply. It's a Christmas plug in, we turned them off in case it was upsetting him and he's woke up completely normal this morning! I think he just likes to stress me out 🙄😂
He's three and I have his sister as well, he's the only one who's been to the vets for anything other than their annual check up!
Anyway, all's well now. Happy Christmas.

Maybe he has firm opinions on home fragrances. It’s jo malone or nothing for him.

You know what cats are like.

One of my mine gets this, it’s so horrible for them and you. He’d been doing so well recently but I think putting up Xmas decs set him off again. Our vet said it can be absolutely anything, even really small things that stresses them out, so I can see why a change of smell or something like that could do it. They also said there is normally a few days between the stressful incident and the cystitis coming back. We now give ours supplements and special food which keeps it at bay most of the time.
