Strange patch on cats face

Does anyone know what this patch on my cats face could be right near his whiskers. First noticed a couple of days ago but was much smaller has got bigger quickly ; also looks like it has beeen scratched and some whiskers have come out.

Will obviously take to vet, but just wondering if some kind of skin/fungal/ ringworm infection. he isn’t excessively scratching and is eating as usual any ideas?

Is he missing a chunk of fur there? Is that skin the pale patch?

Yes the skin is the pale patch and looks like some fur missing.

Can't imagine what that is @Homelykind but it doesn't look nice. If I were you I'd take him to the vet this week, and have them investigate.

Is yours an indoor cat?
When this happened to my cat, same area, it was just that a chunk had been ripped off when anther cat attacked. It grew back quite quickly.

My cat has one like this at the moment, but his is on the bridge of his nose and side of his nose. It's stared spreading upwards. Hard to say if it's the same thing but I took him to the vets last night.

The vet is pretty certain it's a fungal infection. I have to take him back on Friday for him to be sedated whilst they do some tests. I was hoping it would go away on its own but didn't want to leave it any longer.
