Help - Suggestions to Stop Cat Chewing Christmas Lights

Argh, she's 18 months old and has already chomped her way through £200 of Apple leads... now I've found a couple of chewed tree bulbs.

Please, does anyone have any ideas on what I can put on the tree to stop her chewing the bulbs and leads? I've tried a raw chilli wiped on it but it's a bit fiddly and I've probably missed some bits. I don't want her to hurt herself and she is going to knacker my pre-lit tree!

You could try not having lights on your Christmas tree. I honestly can’t think of another practical solution.

Robin here and Floof just goes for the robin decorations and leaves the lights but its a bit trial and error.

You might have to do what I’ve seen in videos lately - hang tree from the ceiling
or purchased the cat, their very own mini Christmas tree ? that might distract them from your one!

We always spray some (naice) citrus air freshener type stuff over the tree to stop dcat from climbing it or playing with baubles - that’s always worked so far, he keeps a good distance from it. Although we do also attach the tree to the ceiling so he can’t knock it over, as an insurance option, as it were.

We sprayed an anti-chew stuff for animals on the Christmas tree this year.

It worked for our kitten. He tried once, made a funny face, drank a lot of water and hasn't tried to chew it since Grin

The tree is tied to the wall for extra security though as all three cats like to bomb around the bottom of it 🙄

The tree is already lashed to the bannisters - unfortunately the lights are built in, or I'd take them off. Thanks for the suggestions - I'm going to try a naice spray - hopefully it tastes revolting :)
