Hi sorry if this is not allowed but I don't know where to post this, apart from getting advice from a vet which I know would cost me a bit and it being so close to Christmas, I just wanted a bit of help if possible..
I've got a female house cat who is 8 years old. On Wednesday I noticed that she wasn't her playful self but is eating drinking and playing a bit so wasn't too worried but today I have noticed that she has got quite a band sore on her left bum cheek which I think may be an abscess! I would just like a bit of advice I have been cleaning it with salt water!

Poor girl. If I were you I’d report your post and ask HQ to move it to the Litter Tray board - you’ll get lots of good advice there.

Hi how do I do that?

I can't tell from the picture, but from your description, it could be an infected anal gland. Whatever it is, you should take her to the vet if she's not well.

She's got a cut on her left bum cheek But if it was an infection anal surely she wouldn't have a mark it would probably just be a bump? I've phoned the vets and they've said that if she's eating and drinking I should keep an eye on her for a few days!

Do you see where it says Report under each post? Click on that, then use the message box that appears to tell MNHQ what you want.

That looks like an abscess, which needs antibiotics. Vet would likely do it in a jab alongside an anti-inflammatory. Costs around £80 at my vet.

Took her to the vets she's a lot happier now thank you for your advice guys!

I posted it on another thread and the amount of abuse I got for putting it on there was disgusting. So thanks for helping
