Self-heating pad for cats?

Has anyone got one of these and does your cat like it? Are they rustly and how do they actually work? There’s one in the BF sale on Amazon which I thought might be worth a punt for a tenner (rather than £20), but not sure if it’s a bit of a gimmick!

We bought an electric plug-in pad and neither of our two elderly cats would go near it. It wasn't rustly but had a fleece cover they didn't seem to like. I sewed a pure cotton cover instead (they were both fabric snobs and would only sleep on natural materials) but still no luck.

I bought my old cat a self heating pad with a sheepskin cover.She loved it.One day I noticed that it was in the spare clean litter tray that she never used.
That became her bed from then on.She must have dragged it from the sofa.

I asked my husband had he done it as a joke.No he said, he thought I had done it Cats are funny little weirdos😻.

Sorry to answer your question, it wasn't rustly at all, and worked by the heat of her body.

Dcat wouldn’t go near the one I bought for her! Complete waste of money!

She is a contrary pickle though! We bought a new mattress and she doesn’t like it as the mattress cover rustles a little bit. She does this ridiculous walk like it’s lava until she can get on to the duvet and then she’ll settle down and sleep.

My boys love their self-heating mat. It is a wee bit crinkly, perhaps, but nothing dramatic. It gets lovely & warm & was definitely worth the money.
