Cat's breathing odd

I will ring vets tomorrow but am hoping someone can enlighten me. He's breathing quite fast but he's not in distress or any pain from what I can see. Eating normally and in and out like a fiddlers elbow.
I took a little video but not sure if I can post videos or just pics.

He's great. Like Fri night never happened. Have a check up with Vet tomorrow and they're going to do another xray of his heart to see if something is going on. Fingers crossed there isn't. Thanks for asking.

Wish I'd seen this thread sooner. My now departed kitty had this rapid breathing. Turned out he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and was already in heart failure, although you would not have known that to look at him, he seemed perfectly healthy.

A heart scan was done by a cardiologist vet after he collapsed one day, showing accumulated fluid and an enlarged heart. He was put on furosamide and clopidogrel for reducing fluid and preventing clots. The clots can cause loss of limb movement (and are very painful). Sadly with cats there isn't as much choice of treatment as there would be with dogs or humans.

I really hope your kitty doesn't have this, OP. Have they tested his pro-BNP (a blood test that can show if he has heart issues)? It's a simple and quick test to do. Here's a link that talks about it along with other heart matters:

I just got a necklace I from Amazon today that you can put ashes in. My little girl is going in it. Mainly for display but I'll wear it now and then.

I've experienced this with one our cats, about 20 years ago and it wasn't a good outcome. No pain, purring and eating, but it was heart failure 😞
