Calcium oxalate bladder stones

Looking to hear from any cat parents whose cats had bladder stones removed- calcium oxalate stones.

My young cat has just had surgery to get them removed. We thought he had cystitis/UTI etc turns out it’s stones. Luckily they weren’t blocking his bladder but definitely causing issues and discomfort.

I just want to hear your stories, cats recover, if they came back or if you managed with diet.

vet has Recommended hills C/D which he is on the dry but it is hard to get him to eat wet (probably contributed to the stones I know) but you can lead a horse to water and all that. Just wondering how you managed to control it and prevent them reoccurring?

Vet has unfortunately found that when trying to flush his bladder after removing the stones that his Willy/urethra is very small, smaller than most cats and that he couldn’t even get the catheter in. He said this is how he’s been born (bless him) but that it may make him more susceptible to a blockage so I need to do everything I can to prevent it.

any useful information please. Cat is a 2.5 year old rescue moggy. Neutered, lives with other 2.5 year old rescue moggy who were bonded when I got them . Dry diet (hills C/D) but offered wet twice daily. 3x water bowls changed regularly . Cystease now daily. Anything else I can do? Also not over weight- weighs about 4kg. Just want the best for my boy.
