When your cat is ill and furious at the same time

I'm in a bit of a state this evening: took my cat (he's the FeistyBoy, not me) to the vet on Friday because he'd got an abscess on his leg. Got antibiotics and anti-inflammatories for him. Abscess went down hugely by Friday evening, but has popped up again. He's licking it a lot and I can now see a scratch about 1cm long on it.

The problem is, this is a cat who does not put up with interference. Previous cats I've had have allowed me to bathe abscesses and clear them out. This one gets very aggressive. Other than another trip to the vet's tomorrow, has anyone got suggestions? His meds are the liquid kind, supposed to be palatable but he's not keen on food with them in even so, but does seem to have eaten what I gave him.

Sorry OP. He clearly favours his physician over a mere mortal like you.
