Kitten and new cat

Has anyone got a new kitten and already had an older cat? Is it a bad idea? I’m considering 2 or would one be better?

It all depends on the already established older cat. My they might accept the kitten or they might start engaging in destructive behaviour such as peeing around your house. I’ve never attempted it but if you do there are some great YouTube videos from Jackson Galaxy on how to introduce them.

Yes it depends on the older cat if they’d accept it. I feel 2 kittens are always better so they have playmates and can let your older cat have peace. I got only one kitten this year but luckily my older 5 year boy has tolerated her well as seen here 😁

My older cat lost his bonded brother so I adopted a kitten. He didn't like it much and after 5 months still growls a bit if the kitten pesters him but they've generally bonded pretty well now. The kitten is definitely top cat. Big cat's bonded brother was top cat too.
