Litter 🤦🏼‍♀️

We've had our kittens for 5 weeks now and the litter is driving us all nuts. You can't walk in the utility room and surrounding rooms without getting litter all over your feet. It tracks EVERYWHERE.

It's the Catsan natural clumping one. I prefer clumping as a bag lasts longer than non clumping does and with two kittens they get through it!

Does a litter exist that is clumping, minimal tracking and NOT eye-wateringly expensive?!

I've tried loads and my go to is Natusan. It's expensive but you don't need to change it weekly, one bag lasts a month for me as long as you scoop at least once a day. It clumps really well.

You also need a large covered tray with a lid. I have two from B&M £8 each. This cuts down the mess, I've also got litter mats in front of the trays.

Cats Best is good to, but I do prefer Natusan.

I use wood pellets and a sifting tray.
Dead cheap

Lovely pictures!

I used both Cats Best and Greenwoods with our previous cats. Fab litters but we still ended up with litter around the house. That was despite putting down a car litter mat.

With our current two they came from the shelter using wood pellets. I meant to change them over to one of the above litters but found the wood pellets so much better for tracking that I never have. I'd recommend the wood pellets.

They are soooo soft and flooffy looking.
looking at those paws are they going to be big cats? Were the other members of their family big?

Cats best smart pellets are the best we found for odour control, reduced tracking etc. But they're quite expensive (although they do last a long time). We're currently using Greenwoods plant based clumping as it's cheaper (lasts ages and has excellent odour control too) and brushing up more often as it does track a lot. We buy all our litter from zooplus.

We use this and think it's the best for the price. Previously we used Worlds Best cat litter in the red bag but it just got too expensive

I don't think they were abnormally large? Mind you they were all medium or long haired so maybe they looked bigger than they were. I don't know about dad though 🤔

I find Greenwoods terrible for tracking (although good in other ways). I only use it when the litter I use is out of stock.

I also tried Natusan and it was expensive and awful, it set like a sticky goo and was a nightmare to clean.

After trying lots of different types I use Super Benek. It can’t be beaten on the tracking front, doesn’t smell awful (I hate the smell of clay/gravel litter), is biodegradable and clumps really well. It must be good as it often goes out of stock. https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_litter/super_benek/461099

I’m a recent convert to wood pellets, they take a bit of getting used to initially but solve so many problems …. No tracking, very easy to remove pee (especially if you have a sieve litter tray) hence no smell, cheaper, no clay involved, far less litter tray deep cleaning than I needed to do before as there is no pee sat around in there (just gets absorbed by the pellets and turns into sawdust).

Amazon’s own-brand corn litter bought on subscribe & save.

The Ballet Cats decided as kittens that they are indoor felines (outside is a hellscape into which they were venturing only to nobly defend me from Horrors Untold) & they don’t generally bury their poo (they’re not daft, they know a human will remove it almost instantly - when home alone it might get covered up) but it completely absorbs the smell of their urine & the clumps are easy to remove. The trays are easy to clean, too.

Thanks for that @TheBalletCats, that looks a bit like Super Benek but is cheaper so I might give it a whirl.
