Does this sound right?

Just taken 4 year old cat to the vets because we spotted blood in her urine this morning. She has been squatting in random places over the last couple of days.

Vet checked for high temperature, abnormal heart rate, swelling, dehydration. All were fine so she thinks it’s probably cystitis.

We have been given a 3ml bottle of metacam to give her once a day for the next 7 to 10 days. The bottle is tiny! Not sure there will be enough.

I paid £85, £55 for the consultation and £30 for the metacam.

Does this all sound right compared with others’ experiences?

your consult if higher than ours would be, but then it was short notice.

Meds seem about right.
Tiny bottles go a surprisingly long way if dosed properly.

Can't comment on the med prescribed.

Not sure, and hopefully someone better informed will be along in a minute. But do just double and treble check that you're measuring the dosage correctly. Metacam syringes can be a bit funny, if I remember correctly.

That sounds very expensive to me. I was at the vet yesterday and paid £50 for an appointment and a months' worth of Metacam for my 8.5kg boy.

Thats exactly what my vet did. Although they have me a bigger bottle of metacam. But my cat had revived by the time we got to the vet.

Sounds what I'd expect
