Cat keepa getting stuck up tree

Our cat is 9 months old and we started letting her out once she turned 8 months, just in the back. The very first time she went out she climbed the massive, biggest tree. She got to a certain height and then froze and started trying to get down but couldn't. She wasn't brave enough to jump the distance. She started meowing in quite a panicked way, more like screaming. So my boyfriend climbed the tree and got her down.

The second time she went out she did the same thing. So we left it for a couple of weeks. Just let her out again today and the first thing she did was climb the tree again but even higher this time. We decided to leave her to try and figure it out herself but she just wasn't coming down and was getting more and more upset. She was meowing and crying so loudly that the neighbours came out. They tried to coax her down with some dreamies and she was trying to find her way down but couldn't. My boyfriend got the ladders and climbed the tree again but this time it was quite difficult to come down with her because she got so high.

I just feel really frustrated because I feel like we can't let her out because every time we do, this happens. She isn't learning not to do it. Is there anything I can do in this situation other than just not let her out or just leave her to it if she gets stuck again? It's just that we already tried that and she got herself so worked up. I would feel very cruel leaving her. Maybe we wait to let her out until she is older so that she hopefully has more sense?

Should we get a tree surgeon to chop the stupid tree down?

Ours got stuck up trees several times between 9 months and a year. Magpies, squirrels, anything kept enticing him up and leaving him there (and laughing).
He could get down, but DS went up a few times to help him, depending on the tree. A very thick pine tree was the worst.
He's two now and not been up a tree for ages.
I don't know what you can do but let her grow out of it.

Have you seen how she climbs the tree? Is there a way to prune it to prevent her climbing or does she claw her way up the trunk (that's how mine climbs!). It might be possible to put something around the trunk to stop her getting up very far (I'm imagining something like a giant cone but have no idea if anything exists like this!).

I just googled "stop cat climbing tree" and there are many ideas, including cone shaped things!

There's several at the tiger enclosure at the YWP to stop the cats getting out!

Oh my goodness THANK YOU! Don't know why I didn't even think anything like that would exist
