Random, what would you do??

I'm in bed and kids asleep so trapped at home.

Got a notification that there was someone at my work. I've had some anti social behaviour and my ring camera can set a siren off so looked to see if I need to sound siren to see someone leaving over our wall and dump a dead cat.

Front of property is accessible but cat is no longer visible until you enter my car park area.
It hasn't moved so guessing dead and moved off road to a safer spot?!?

Is there anyone I can call tonight? Any charities who would respond to check on it? What if it's not a cat?!? CCTV not perfect. Google says take it to vet but I can't do anything till kids at school.

Is there another colleague who could check?

No, only three of us and all mums.

If by any chance it's in South London you could contact SNARL, they have been investigating cat killings for some time.

R,I,P

Superhair · 19/10/2023 22:22

Your local Facebook group for lost and found pets. Post there tell them where it is and someone can usually go out to scan the cat, they will then normally take to local vets.

That ^^
If you can't find one PM me the area and I can check (I scan for my local area)

Or yes alternative is wrap in towel and take to a local vet who will scan

@PeskyPotato was the cat still there this morning? I’m sort of hoping it was actually okay and so made it’s way home.

PeskyPotato · 20/10/2023 15:31

Ok before I reply.... watch the cctv and tell me, this does look like a cat right?!?

Can't post video but there's photo trying to crop too much of area nearby so I'm not identified

I couldn't sleep so got a neighbour to listen out for kids and ran down to work to see what was going on.

Hmmm could be a rabbit.

PeskyPotato · 20/10/2023 15:33

It was a pile of new folded clothes.

Thank goodness for that!

TheyreEatingThemInNelsonAndTheBluff · 20/10/2023 16:02

I’m ridiculously pleased it wasn’t a poor suffering cat op, although I’m sure you can have done without having to dash to work at that hour!

CrunchyCarrot · 20/10/2023 16:16

Yes thank Goodness!

Coldinscotland · 20/10/2023 16:19

My dd once came home distraught she had pulled her car over to help a rabbit running along near the traffic.... Dd nearly died saving a carrier bag.

Shows you have a good heart op. .

Toddlerteaplease · 20/10/2023 16:55

I once thought I spotted a tiny kitten. And made the person driving stop. It wasn't!

Pudmyboy · 20/10/2023 16:57

What a relief! Well done @PeskyPotato and really glad you updated this thread!

CurlewKate · 20/10/2023 17:00

I once did an emergency stop for a crisp packet.
