Help! Sick cat and TMI smell! What could be cause?!

My cat has had some diarrhoea and vomiting today. Have been keeping an eye on him and ready to take to vet if needed but last resort because he hates it.

Came home after doing school run and he'd done some diarrhoea on my bed. But both me and OH could smell what we can only describe as human spunk. The poo itself didn't smell but the room had a whiff off it and then we could both smell it concentrated on one of the pillows but no visible marks/wetness.

Anyone have any ideas??

How old is he? Is he neutered?

He's neutered yes (neutered young) and is 8 years old.

Hmm interesting. Was going to suggest spraying but that stinks, you'd definitely know if it was that. Other thing it could be is anal gland seepage. But, again, he's obvs not constipated, so doubtful.
Is it normal sick/diarrhoea? Nothing unusual in it? Normal colour?
Is he drinking and eating ok?

He's a beauty btw

Well, I didn't get to the bottom of the smell but cat is currently at the vets having bloods done.

The runny poo and sickness continued and he wasn't eating much so I took him in today. They're giving him an injection for anti sickness and pain relief, plus fluid and blood tests. Picking him up in a couple of hours.

Really hoping this is enough and he won't need anymore treatment. The above alone is costing me £750!

Meanwhile, I'm trying to deep clean the vomit and poo away.

Poor love. Glad he's at the vets, hopefully you get some answers without being charged the earth. Is it pancreatitis? Symptoms sound similar to what we've experienced in the past.

Another vote for pancreatitis! There are special tests for pancreatitis so please ask your vet if this got checked.
