Anyone else have cats that don’t like Dreamies?

So, after two years of trying to adopt kittens I have finally got some. From the RSPCA. I had to drive around 1.5 hours there to fetch them, but they’re now home and have settled in. Although bring on the day I can let them out. ;)

So everywhere I’ve read about cats, I’ve seen that they all love Dreamies. That they can’t resist them, that Dreamies are the thing to have.

Except, it seems, my cats.

They don’t care for them. Positively turn their noses up at them. And pay them not the slightest attention.

I’m surely ot the only one am I?

Errr, forget the Dreamies (mine love them btw), you can’t just drop into the conversation you have new long awaited kittens and not share a photo 🤣

Craycraycatbaby · 14/10/2023 15:04

One of my cats loves them but then she is a greedy little thing and runs inside the cupboard when she hears you open it, helps herself to food and treats, begs for food, she's basically a dog.. my other cat hates all food apart from GoCat. I once couldn't get GoCat and had to buy whiskas. She now won't touch GoCat and only eats dry Whiskas 🙄

SeagullSong · 14/10/2023 15:08

One of mine loves them but thankfully stops short of the addict behaviour described by PP. His littermate brother won't touch them.

Igmum · 14/10/2023 15:16

How is this even possible? DGirlCat goes crazy for them, even a rustling back will interest her. DBoyCat isn't far behind. I assumed they contained some sort of Cat Crack that hooked them.

Also where is the photo of these adorable new kittens turning their noses up at Dreamies? Cat tax not paid...

doubleshotcappuccino · 14/10/2023 15:17

Our dogs love dreamies!!!

DollyTots · 14/10/2023 15:18

Mine dramatically spits out Dreamies and seems offended if I offer them. No interest in any of the flavours. He’d kill for a small bit of tuna out of the tin though.

Beachwaves127 · 14/10/2023 15:30

My cat’s not fussed about treats in general. Not a foodie.

AnnaMagnani · 14/10/2023 17:20

Scrap that, bastarding cat now doesn't like Cat sticks.

He is skating on thin ice as he hasn't come in and is about to become an indoor cat if he doesn't buck up his ideas.

Mumsgirls · 14/10/2023 21:47

Mine loves likelix, but not dreamies

seathewayahead · 14/10/2023 21:54

We have two (cats). Neither which touch a treat, not the dreamies nor the posh ones my friend brought when she stayed. They just eat their biscuits (and occasionally the kids porridge)

Ffion21 · 17/10/2023 18:40

My cat wouldn’t touch anything that was lamb flavoured or real lamb. Hated it. Could sniff it out a mile off and if one was left in a pile of other flavours it would be the only one left in his biscuit bowl.

Prawns however he literally used to savour and lick and eat them painfully slowly, because he loved them so much. My cat was evidently really middle class.

Lookingatthesunset · 17/10/2023 18:45

One of mine loves Dreamies, other can take or leave them - tuna is her chosen treat, first one loves ham.

A neighbours' cat comes scratching at the patio doors every evening to beg for Dreamies...

tillytoodles1 · 19/10/2023 19:57

My cat ate a few but decided she didn't like them. She eats the cheese ones from the receptionist at the vets, but not when I give them to her.

CloudyAgain · 19/10/2023 20:00

One of ours adores Dreamies. She makes a big show of going out the door then reversing back in at speed so she can have her 'coming in when called dreamies'.

The other one can't be bothered. We have had her from the RSPCA for about 3 months. This past weekend I discovered she is quite partial to thinly sliced lamb kidneys simmered in cream. Hmm

SushiAndSkittles · 29/10/2023 17:59

I work in a cattery. The majority of cats go crazy for Dreamies but we still get the occasional cat who doesn’t care for them too much 😆

VisaWoes · 29/10/2023 19:02

My non Dreamie liking cat just stole a YouMove tablet off the dog and scoffed that! 🤷‍♀️🙈

Lookingatthesunset · 30/10/2023 01:27

I have a Dreamie lover who also is mad for ham! My other girl is ok with Dreamies, and doesn't mind ham but goes mad for tuna!

Banana1979 · 30/10/2023 02:38

My cat hates cat crack aka Dreamies and refuses all treats except those cat sticks lol

Mumsgirls · 30/10/2023 21:29

My old boy Eric,15 is not interested. Loves a licky though

Kelta · 30/10/2023 21:31

neither of mine will touch any of the “treat” items

JaceLancs · 30/10/2023 21:59

Previous 2 Dcats hated dreamies and one didn’t like ‘people’ food either
New arrival Finlay who is now 14 weeks - loves dreamies and eats anything except dry food

HamstersAreMyLife · 30/10/2023 22:02

Current DC turns her nose up at most treats but Dreamies she is particularly disdainful of. I brought a different flavour back from abroad for her one time which went down slightly better but then went to next door. Purina treats on the other hand (round hard balls, cost about £3 for a handful, utter rip off) she adores and we have recently had success with those lucky things but tbh I'm not sure how to give them to her!
