New kitten and 2 year old cat

Id love a new kitten but have a 2 yr old neutered male cat. Hes friendly enough but not a lap cat. He seems ok with neighbourhood cats and ive never seen or heard him fight.

ay advice? Bad idea? If not is a male or female kitten likely to be better?

Two should be a perfectly good age to introduce a kitten - personally I've found males are easier and much less territorial.

We're currently doing with a 9 week old kitten and a 1 year old cat. My cats a female and my friend had a girl kitten remaining not wanting her to go elsewhere so we had her! Females are definitely more territorial but if I'm being honest, yes we're only 24 hours in, but it's not as bad as I expected. Couple of hisses and growls from cat but then walks away herself and goes off doing her own thing etc until she wants another investigation ☺️. I'd say do whilst cat is still young, and take it slowly. Scent swapping etc! X
