Can anyone help with failed cat introduction?

Hi, looking for any advice at all!

3 weeks ago we adopted a 3rd cat, she is a little older than our other two (she is 4, they are 2 and 3).

We did a slow introduction first - lots of scent swapping, eating on opposite sides of the doors etc!

When we very slowly let them meet there was lots of hissing. That calmed down a lot about week 2 and we felt very confident! They would mostly ignore each other and we would break up any long stares with treats / toys. (Never left them apart)

our new cat has lots of energy, and yesterday she randomly chased both of our others multiple times. This absolutely terrified them and neither have come home since - I have fed them at the back door.

Any advice at all on how to get her to stop chasing them? I just want them to come home!

It sounds like you might need to take some steps back in the introductions - perhaps confine new cat to let the other two reclaim their territory and confidence. You could also try a Feliway plug in to smooth things over.

Thanks @RaeHitsEbSire !

I agree, I think we need to go back a few steps and get them to feel safe in “their” space again before we reintroduce.

Interestingly, we plugged a Feliway in on Wednesday night, before the awful day of yesterday!
