Stray kittens, who do I phone?

There is a cat and two kittens living in the car park behind my house. Definitely stray. Been hearing them for months but today was the first day I've seen them. I fed them ham and wet dog food and managed to get them within touching distance. Mum is happy around me and I managed to pick her up so is used to people. Kittens aren't.

Who is best to call? I've heard bad things about rspca but don't actually know about them. Or cats protection?? Anyone else? Who definitely won't put them down?
I've got dogs so can't keep them sadly.

RSPCA, Cat's Protection and local rescue are all worth a try.

Rescues are overrun with kittens so you'll have to try everywhere ! Some places will do a trap neuter return at the minimum as mum needs neutering ASAP if you've been hearing them for months!

Do you have a local animal hospital. Our local one takes in strays.

I was worried this might be the case. Although neutering her might at least prevent more. What age do they neuter kittens?

Ask on your local Facebook group - there’s probably a small local rescue that’s the best option.

No idea, wouldn't have thought to Google that particular phrase though so thanks, will see what I can find Smile

@Bawdrip they generally do around 12 weeks. Some rescues may do earlier.
Try the rescues listed in your local area on www.catchat.org/shelter_centre/

They are sweet !

Thanks, there's two in my town and lots of nearish ones I can also try if need be.

I just wanted to write and say thank you for caring about them. They're beautiful 💖

A smaller local rescue will be your best bet.

whereabouts are you? Someone here might be able to recommend a rescue.

Malificent1 · 05/10/2023 21:46

Always black and white 🖤 🤍 I used to trap ferals and they were always black and white. Little sweethearts.

Lancashire, there's lots on the website link upthread so I'll just work my way through them.

I wish my stupid dogs weren't so aggressive to cats, I'd definitely keep them otherwise! Although I'm not a cat person , very much usually in the dog camp! Hopefully mum will have a microchip and a loving family waiting for her return

Please feel free to PM me if you don’t find somewhere to take them in, I volunteer at a cat rescue near Blackpool and know of others
