Tips for giving cat medicine

5 month old kitten has tummy trouble and a temperature so the vet has given us Panacur in case it's giardia.

Putting it on food he will not touch the food.

Wrapping him in a towel he somehow can wriggle out of even with two of us.

Any other tips? Thanks.

This works for my cat, OP. It's a chicken flavoured 'putty' you can wrap round the pill. Makes it tasty!

Squash him (gently) between your knees. Rubbing the throat is meant to help as it makes them swallow. There is also a device you can buy which I think basically catapults it to the back of the throat.

We use Lick-e-Lix to hide crushed up tablets or granules in. Ours won't take meds at all and I was getting tired of bleeding!

I second Lick-e-Lix and it's suitable for kittens. Give it a really good mix and it should work. It's the only way I can get meds in my big vicious bugger 😁

(It is customary to provide a picture of feline subject of OP. Actually, it's compulsory.)

Get a pill popper syringe thing. My late girl took 8 pills a day. I'm a pro at medicating cats.

*disclaimer, Persians aren't real cats. May not apply in case of moggy.

Lick-E-lix definitely. May take a few flavours to find the winner but then you’re set. I used the chicken flavour but have found salmon even more successful

Off to get some lick e lix

Lix e lix liver not well received in my house.

I refer my learned friend to her previous disclaimer.

Liver is the GOAT in this house 😁

@herringboneparquet I refuse to believe that such an adorable floof could ever be anything other than perfectly behaved 😱
