My five year old female cat is looking quite tubby and needs to shift some weight for her own good. We adopted her last year from a family who couldn't look after her any longer through no fault of their own. She was already a little round but she's definitely got larger on my watch.
She took a long time to settle - at first she sprayed in the house - so we have spent a long time helping her to feel at home. We have two other cats who are both ideal weight, so I haven't been dishing out ridiculous amounts of food, but she obviously has a tendency to eat everything she comes across.
We've seen a vet who said some diet foods are low calorie, while others are high in fibre to make the cat feel full so I'm not really sure where to start. Has anyone had any success with a particular weight loss food?
She's such a lovely cat and we want her to live a long and happy life, so I need to sort this for her.
